The Norwegian midfielder has joined Manchester United Women in the third signing of the January transfer window.

Lisa Nalsund joins Manchester United and is the third signing made by the Reds in the January transfer window

Lisa Naalsund joins Manchester United from SK Brann on a two-and-a-half-year deal, becoming the club’s third signing of the January transfer window.

The Norwegian international midfielder joins Mark Skinner’s side after four seasons at SK Brann, winning two league titles in the process. The 27-year-old offers plenty of experience in the middle of the park, featuring in the top-flight since 2014, playing for Arna-Björnur and Il Sandviken before joining Brann four years ago.

On the international stage, Norlsund made his full debut for Norway in 2021 when he came on for new United teammate Vilde Bo-Risa against Sweden – having represented his country at every under-15 group stage. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury before the European Championships, which forced him out of the competition altogether.

Naalsund said: “Manchester United is a great football club and I’m very happy to be here. The club is full of good people and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of fantastic fans.

“It’s great to come to a club that has everything to play for this season – I love it. It’s going to be great!”

Rumors of a bid for Skinner’s Nalsund came in early January following Braun’s failure to agree a new contract with the midfielder, with Nalsund saying: “An extension means I’ll be staying for the rest of my career. I don’t think the offer is good enough for that.

AS Roma made a bid of 1 million kroner for the Norwegian international, although Skinner brought the talented midfielder to the Women’s Super League with a £160,000 package.

Head coach Mark Skinner added: “We are delighted to welcome Lisa to Manchester United, where she will play in the center of midfield and bring experience at the top level.

“Her mentality, box-to-box runs and desire to win will continue to add a variation of talent and quaaaaaality to the team. We look forward to integrating her into our team.”

Nalsund’s contract will see him in Manchester United colors until the end of the 2025/26 season. She joins Estelle Cascarino and Jade Riviere as she heads to English soil.
