Talks ‘opened’ with Argentinian star as Musah swoop disapproved

Liverpool already have a number of plans ahead of the January transfer window with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp aiming to add to his current squad at Anfield over the next month.

Now there are only three weeks to go until the January transfer window opens and Liverpool already appear to be working on trying to get deals on the line.

Jude Bellingham is among those who have been linked with a winter move to Anfield next month, but at this stage, a deal looks difficult to facilitate with Borussia Dortmund set to charge a premium for his signing. That has forced Liverpool to look elsewhere for cheaper alternatives and it seems a number of names have already been added to their shortlist.

Find out who are latest linked with a winter move to Liverpool before the transfer window opens in a matter of weeks:

Liverpool ‘opens’ the Fernández talks
While Bellingham has turned heads at the World Cup in Qatar, the same can be said for Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernández. According to Record, the Reds have already opened talks with the latter’s employer, Benfica, about a possible move.

It remains to be seen if the Portuguese giants would consider selling the 21-year-old considering he only arrived at the club in the summer from River Plate. He has made 24 appearances for Benfica since then.

That form has helped Fernández carve out a place in the Argentine setup and helped his nation reach the World Cup semifinals with victory over the Netherlands. He has a contract at the Estadio da Luz until 2027.

Musah move disapproved
Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has suggested American midfielder Yunus Musah is not yet ready for a move to Anfield as the Reds have been linked with a raid on his services.

As quoted by ESPN, he said: “Not yet [Musah is not ready]

“I want to say that he has had a good World Cup in terms of the dirty side of the game, running, challenging, winning the ball back. You could argue that Liverpool’s best team had three guys in the middle of the park who were really good at it. But no, I don’t think he’s close to Liverpool yet.”

Reds renew interest in Sander Berge
Sticking with the central midfield theme, long-term target Sander Berge could finally move to Anfield next month. The Norwegian has long been associated with Liverpool following his impressive performances for Sheffield United.

According to Jeunes Footeux, the Reds are interested once again and could potentially make a push to secure his services in the winter window. Berge is said to be keen to leave Bramall Lane with Chelsea and is also apparently considering a switch should a winter transfer become feasible.
