Pep Guardiola extends Manchester City contract for two years

Manchester City manager, Spaniard Pep Guardiola, has renewed his contract for another two years with the English club, which means he will remain in charge until 2025, announced the reigning Premier League champions.

“I am very happy to stay at Manchester City for another two years,” Guardiola said in a club statement released on Wednesday.

“I can’t thank everyone at the club enough for putting their trust in me. I’m happy and comfortable and have everything I need to do my job as well as possible.”

“I know the next chapter of this club will be amazing in the next decade. It happened in the last 10 years and it will happen in the next 10 years because this club is so stable.”

“From day one I felt something special to be here. I couldn’t be in a better place,” said Guardiola. In the current season, City disputes the leadership of the English championship with Arsenal and managed to advance to the round of 16 of the Champions League.

“I still have the feeling that we can achieve more together and that’s why I want to stay and keep fighting for trophies.”

City general manager Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “I am delighted that Pep’s journey with Manchester City Football Club will continue.”
