Newcastle receive shock Allan Saint-Maximin enquiry – The Telegraph

According to The Telegraph, Nottingham Forest have contacted Newcastle United over the availability of Allan Saint-Maximin.

After securing the signing of Chris Wood on an initial loan deal, it’s believed the Reds launched an ‘ambitious enquiry’ for the Frenchman.

The winger hasn’t started a game for the club since last November’s Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace, however it seems the club have no interest in letting the player leave.

The Telegraph state that Forest’s sporting director Filippo Giraldi is a ‘huge admirer’ of the 25-year-old and aware of the fact he has several friends in their squad, but Newcastle are keen to keep him on Tyneside as we compete for a top four finish and Carabao Cup glory.

Elsewhere, reports in Italy claim that AC Milan are also showing interest in Saint-Maximin, with Tuttomercato revealing that the Serie A giants have identified him as an alternative to leading target Nicolò Zaniolo.

It’s tough to predict what will happen to ASM following his recent lack of game time and fitness issues, but I think we can all agree he won’t be joining Chris Wood at the City Ground!
