Paris Saint-Germain advisor Luis Campos has challenged Kylian Mbappe to play beyond ’40 or 50% of his potential’ ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Since breaking into Monaco’s first team as a 16-year-old during the 2016/17 season, Mbappe has been one of football’s premier players.
His starring performances in France’s World Cup triumph of 2018 elevated his already lofty standing and he is now one of the most recognisable sport stars across the globe.
However, Campos, who joined PSG in the summer, believes Mbappe still has more to give.
“Mbappe is still only at 40 or 50% of his potential, and I tell him that every day. He can still give a lot more because he is a player who has not yet finished his training,” he said.
“There is the speed of maturation, that is to say that not everyone evolves at the same rate. Mbappe at 16 was already developed at all levels. Physically, he was very strong and had an understanding of the game worthy of a 26-year-old player.”
