Chelsea’s cursed season continues to roll on – and despite the all time low in terms of results (one win in 9 games), you can’t help but feel some optimism around.
Compared to 6 weeks ago, when we were both losing every week and also had a flimsy squad ravaged by injury, things look much rosier in terms of quality now. Chelsea spent crazy money on refreshing their whole team in January, and not only that, they’ve also passed the nadir of their injury hell.
Ben Chilwell and Reece James both started a game for the first time in what feels like years last night, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante are closing in on a return, and we expect Raheem Sterling to be available for our next game too.
On that front, things are looking good – and we’d be stunned if our next 9 games were anything like as bad as the last 9.
If you share our belief that this is going to be the turning point. Perhaps this is your chance to back the Blues to finish in the European spots in the Premier League this season, using something like you bingoal bonus code to enhance your odds even further.
The bookies are looking at the numbers – and there’s no denying they look bad. Last night was the perfect example, as we somehow failed to find the net despite some great chances. But our luck will change eventually, and when it does we expect this newly talented team to go on a run. Just as others around us are starting to tire, we should be gelling together. At the stage where FA Cup and Carabao Cup commitments start to drag others down, we will be fresh and free and able to train all week.
Graham Potter’s place seems safe no matter what results he gets, allowing him to focus on coaching rather than worrying about his job. If we can just start putting the ball into the net, we forsee a rapid rise up the table, and hopefully a surge of morale that can carry us into the Europa League places at the very least.
Southampton, Tottenham, Leeds, Leicester and Everton are our next 5 games. All of them have had their troubles at times this season, and with a bit of belief we can beat any of them. That’s three of the bottom four, plus a game against Spurs we can use to reel them back in.
Maybe it’s just the Joao Felix hype getting to us, but we really are starting to see the green shoots…
