United States Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter has warned his players not to underestimate Wales in their World Cup opener.
The Stars and Stripes head into their Group B opener against the Dragons on Monday as slight favorites, thanks largely to possessing Champions League and top-flight talents such as Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, Gio Reyna, and Tyler Adams.
However, Wales still have a number of dangerous players in their armory – not least Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey – and are easily capable of stinging the USMNT if they let their guard down.

“I think that, at least to the American media, Wales is underrated,” Berhalter told reporters. “When I look at their squad, it’s basically a Premier League squad.
“To me, it’s a really good squad, a formidable squad. They’ve been in international competition before, they know what it’s like. And it’s going to be a very difficult game.”
Following their clash against Wales, the United States face England (November 25), and Iran (November 29) to close out their group stage journey.
