Erik ten Hag could see five Manchester United players leaving in the January transfer window as the Dutchman looks to rejuvenate his squad.
Despite a torrid start to the current campaign, in which United have suffered crushing defeats to Brighton and Brentford, ten Hag’s efforts at United are slowly bearing fruit.
With the club now competing with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur to finish in a Champions League berth, ten Hag is likely to be added to their squad in January.
The Old Trafford club have been tipped to bring in a number of players next month to fill the squad gap left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in particular.
Although United have been linked with Cody Gakpo and Marcus Thuram, a number of players are also set to leave the club.

Here are five players likely to leave Old Trafford before the start of February.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was bought for £45m from Crystal Palace in 2019, has been linked with a return to the South London club, while West Ham are also interested.
The full-back was a regular at Old Trafford, but lost his place to Diogo Dalot at the end of last season. This season, the 25-year-old has managed just four minutes of first-team football and will likely move on to new pastures in January.
Facundo Pellistri
Facundo Pellistri is in the strange position of starting the World Cup for Uruguay, but completely ignored at United. The 20-year-old has not made a first-team appearance since his £9m move from Peñarol in October 2020.
Having spent time on loan at Alaves on two occasions since arriving in England, he is likely to leave United temporarily again in January.
Donny van de Beek
Donny van de Beek has failed to make an impact in England, having signed for United from Ajax two years ago for £40m.
After a failed loan spell at Everton, the arrival of ten Hag at United has renewed hopes that van de Beek could do well at Old Trafford. However, having struggled to impress this season, United will look to sell the star.
Teden Mengi
Having previously impressed on loan at Birmingham City and Derby County, Teden Mengi was due to leave United temporarily again in January.
Although the defender suffered an injury against Real Betis in a friendly earlier this month, the setback is unlikely to be as serious as feaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaared and may not deter Mengi from making a change in January.
Di’Shon Bernard
Di’Shon Bernard spent his last term on loan at Hull City, helping the Tigers retain their Championship status, having previously also spent time at Salford City.
Having made his senior debut in 2019, Bernard is in desperate need of first team football this season and is set to move to the Championship or possibly abroad.
