Donald Trump was banned from Twitter after the attacks on the capitol back in early 2021, now under new ownership by Elon Musk, the people are voting to see if he shall be reinstated back on the platform.
It has been quite a few weeks for Elon Musk as he is under constant scrutiny after the purchase of the social media titan Twitter. He has sworn to be a champion of free speech and look for equanimity in the chaos of information, and part of these actions are without a doubt enraging some.
Jordan Petersen, Kathie Griffin, and Babylon Bee
As of now, Elon Musk has welcomed Jordan Petersen, Kathie Griffin, and Babylon Bee. The three of them were previously banned from sharing their thoughts on the platform because of controversial views that contradicted Twitter’s previous terms and conditions, however, under new management they are now back.
About an hour ago, Musk created a poll to see if the public wanted to have the former President of the United States back in the platform despite what Trump said about not returning to Twitter if Elon Musk owned it.
Vox Populi, Vox Dei
Following the post, Musk tweeted Vox Populi, Vox Dei, a very old Latin expression that means ‘The voice of the people is the voice of God’. This could mean that he’d honor what the public decided.
At this point, the ‘Yes’ vote has been winning since the questions were launched an hour ago with about 197 million people.
The current votes are 3,560,139 and numbers are growing, while Musk is giving the people 24 hours to decide and then we will see what happens.
