Donald Trump will have his Twitter account reinstated, Elon Musk announced Saturday night.
Following a 24-hour poll on the social media platform, which more than 134 million people saw, Trump will seemingly get his Twitter back.
Over 15 million Twitter users participated in the poll, which went Trump’s way by a slight margin, winning with 51.8% of the vote.
“The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated,” Musk tweeted.
Trump, 76, is running for office in 2024 and Twitter would be a great tool for his campaign, but he apparently doesn’t agree.
Will Donald Trump return to Twitter?
The former POTUS doesn’t seem too keen on returning to Twitter, at least not by what he said via video at the Republican Jewish Coalition‘s annual leadership meeting.
“I don’t see any reason for it,” Trump said when asked about returning to the social media platform.
Trump explained he would rather concentrate all efforts on his new platform Truth Social, the app developed by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).
In true businessman style, Trump went on to promote the platform, saying it has better user engagement than Twitter and that it is performing “phenomenally well“.
