Manchester United are nearing the first signing of the January transfer window, with Wout Weghorst set to sign on loan – and the Red Devils continue to be linked with more players

Manchester United are on the verge of completing their first signing of the January transfer window.

Dutch striker Wout Weghorst has flown to England to sign a six-month loan deal with the Red Devils, having already signed deals with parent club Burnley and current employers Besiktas. Once he’s officially announced, attention will quickly turn to who could potentially follow him to Old Trafford.

A number of names continue to be linked with a move to the club in January and possibly even in the summer. Take a look at the celebrity rumors coming from the club below:

Dortmund releases Moukoko update
Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has reiterated his desire to keep United target Youssoufa Moukoko at the club with just six months left on his current deal with the German giants.

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, he said: “He’s trying to get a good position now. It’s legal, but it’s also legitimate for us to have our ideas.

“If it is not congruent, the collaboration will not continue. This is the final consequence. But of course we hope that he stays with us.”

Moukuko has been linked with the Red Devils, as well as Chelsea, Barcelona and Newcastle United.

United dismissed Lindelof’s questions
Man Utd have reportedly turned down a request from Atletico Madrid for defender Victor Lindelof. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are interested in signing the Swede to strengthen their defensive options.

They will reportedly allow Brazil defender Felipe to join Wolves but want a replacement. Atleti reportedly approached United about Lindelof only to see their request denied.

However, the Spanish side have an alternative in the form of Leicester star Caglar Soyuncu, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Celtic have caught Juranovic’s interest

Celtic are reportedly waiting to see if Man Utd make a move for Croatia defender Josip Juranovic as a right-back who shone at the World Cup. The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the former Legia Warsaw star.

According to the Daily Record, the Scottish giants are aware that Monza and Espanyol want him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. However, they are willing to wait for the Red Devils to potentially confirm their interest.

United could potentially use a new right-back by the end of the window, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka linked with a departure.
