You’ll have to tune back in nice and early tomorrow to find out, as we take you through all the latest breaking and developing news during the day – from Old Trafford and beyond.

Well, away from tonight’s major breaking news, France have beaten Australia 4-1 during their World Cup opener.

Olivier Giroud equalled Thierry Henry’s all-time scoring record for France with his 50th and 51st goals for his country either side of half-time, alongside strikes from Kylian Mbappe and United-linked Adrien Rabiot.

There were hopes that Raphael Varane would be able to start tonight’s match after recovering from injury, but the United defender remained on the bench for the duration of the game.

Although Les Bleus won, both France and Argentina failed to keep clean sheets today.

If only they would have started two talented defenders at their disposal to help them out…

Well, it’s safe to say a lot of you out there are enjoying tonight’s news, and who can blame you.

After 17 years of ownership, it appears that at long last, the Glazers may be about to put the plans in motion to sell the club.

There is still a long way to go between now and that eventuality, but tonight’s news is certainly a step in the right direction for that outcome.

A Premier League side cutting ties with their star striker from last season, only for him to end up at their rivals?

Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may know or a thing or two about that…

Now though Ronaldo could be set to follow in his shoes. So should United be concerned?

Rooney has shared his thoughts on tonight’s breaking news:

Are you happy with Ten Hag’s first few months in charge of United?

On a scale of 0-100, how much do you approve of the club’s ownership?

The Glazer family are considering selling Manchester United as they seek new investment into the club, according to reports.

The club has been owned by the American family for 17 years, a reign dominated by protests and a decline in standards on the pitch for the past nine years.

A statement confirming the family’s intentions to seek new outside investment could come imminently, but United were refusing to comment on the reports.

A report from Sky tonight has claimed that the Glazer family could be set to finally relinquish control of the club after more than 17 years at Old Trafford.

There is no denying that since the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund took over the club, Newcastle have been able to be far more aggressive with their transfer dealings.

Ronaldo would of course be a statement signing for Howe’s side, as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner no doubt starts to look for a club that can offer him a lucrative wage.

It now seems that Newcastle will not be one of those clubs, after the Daily Telegraph’s Luke Edwards reported that the Magpies have “zero interest” in making a move for Ronaldo, now he is a free agent.

It now seems that the 37-year-old’s interview with Piers Morgan has cost him far more than his reputation at Old Trafford.

Sources have now confirmed to the MEN, that the Portugal international is set to receive zero compensation following his early departure. The amount left on his deal could have seen Ronaldo take home up to £16million should he have been allowed to see out his contract by the hierarchy at United.

Although the deal was agreed by mutual consent, Ronaldo is now set to miss out on millions following the fallout of his explosive interview.

Ronaldo has scored some truly unforgettable goals in the Premier League.

Although the manner of his departure from the club may have seen his United career come to a disappointing end, there is no denying just how good he has been for the Reds over the years.
