Chelsea could look in-house to solve some midfield issues – Talk Chelsea

Chelsea are currently looking to sign a new midfielder this window as part of a big squad rebuild. Late moves for Enzo Fernandez of Benfica, and Moises Caicedo of Brighton, look quite possible.

But could Chelsea also look in-house when considering new names for their midfield rebuild?

Well, perhaps they might, and they probably should be.

Chelsea allowed new signing Andrey Santos to head out to play at the South American Championships this month, and it’s proving to be a great decision.

When he was signed it was always going to be as a player for the future and one from ‘Vision 2030’. But right now, Santos is really showing up and making people take note of his name, for many reasons.

Santos is making his name heard out in South America right now and he has scored two goals in his last two games for Brazil U20s. Last night, he captained his team to a 3-1 win over closest rivals Argentina.

Chelsea’s rebuild is currently happening, and Santos is really pushing himself to the forefront of it already. Maybe he comes in next season as that third midfielder? I can see it. Maybe he even comes in now and saves Chelsea some cash? I haven’t yet seen him enough to make that judgement, personally.

But regardless, what a player we have on our hands here, and what a leader already at the age of just 18. Doing dressing room team talks before the is also very John Terry-like. This is brilliant:

He’s certainly making his name heard right now, and I am sure Chelsea will be listening the most!
