Chelsea are expected to approach Benfica with another proposal for Enzo Fernandez before the transfer window closes

Graham Potter will be relieved to know that his Chelsea side now have an extended break taking to the field again. The Blues are set to lock horns with Fulham at the start of next month and, by then, the likes of Reece James, Ben Chilwell and even N’Golo Kante could all be available to feature in some capacity; whether it’s from the get-go or off the bench.

The west Londoners showed great signs of improvement in the goalless draw with Liverpool but they’re still without a number of key players, who ordinarily would be in the starting lineup. And, that’s not to mention the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, who will benefit more than anyone else as they look to acclimatise to life at Cobham training ground.

But, it seems as if they won’t be the only new faces settling in before the Fulham tie on February 3. Chelsea continue to be heavily linked with signing a new midfielder this month amid the uncertain futures of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.

The duo are both set to leave the Blues in the summer once their deals expire. So, Brighton star Moises Caicedo has been lined up as the perfect acquisition, while the likes of Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Enzo Fernandez remain on the club’s periphery.

So, with that being said, follow all the latest news and transfer gossip in football.london’s live blog right here…

Gusto is keen on moving to Stamford Bridge, football.london understands, so that might be something for Lyon to consider.

Tony Cascarino has told The Times that Mykhaylo Mudryk reminded him of Alexis Sanchez when he arrived at Arsenal as the Gunners’ January transfer target made his Chelsea debut on Saturday.

“With his ability to take the ball on the stride and thrive in tight areas, the Ukraine forward reminded me of Alexis Sánchez at the beginning of his Arsenal career, but perhaps with an extra yard of pace.”

Chelsea have held preliminary talks with Lyon over a move for full-back Malo Gusto, football.london understands.

The Blues have invested heavily in their first team this month with Benoit Badiashile, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, and David Datro Fofana added to Graham Potter’s squad. Gabriel Slonina and Andrey Santos have also been recruited, although neither has yet to make their senior debut.

Due to the injuries suffered by Reece James over the past 12 months, right-back has become a problem position for Chelsea. The club have explored several options throughout the window but Gusto – who has just 18 months remaining on his contract with Lyon – is understood to be a long-term target.

Liverpool want to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea according to FourFourTwo. The English midfielder is stalling on a new contract at the club he has been at since he was 6 years old.

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has reportedly been sacked as Everton manager.

The Athletic have revealed that Chelsea could have the option to sign Joao Felix permanently in the summer window.

Chelsea are expected to approach Benfica with another proposal for Enzo Fernandez before the transfer window closes, football.london understands.

According to German transfer expert Christian Falk, via Give Me Sport, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all interested in Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie.

Speaking about Hincapie to Givemesport, Falk said: “Tottenham still has its eye on him, already in the summer, but also Arsenal again and Chelsea are visiting what is happening with him.”

Chelsea boss Graham Potter may have a new undroppable player in his squad following the Blues’ 0-0 draw against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

As per The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma was subject of an inquiry from Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell.

However, Spurs are unwilling to strengthen a direct rival despite holding an interest in Chelsea playmaker Hakim Ziyech.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on Chelsea’s interest in Youssoufa Moukoko.

“Interest in Youssoufa Moukoko was strong,” Romano told Caught Offside.

“Newcastle had serious contacts and Chelsea spoke to his agents but the player was always keen on staying at Borussia Dortmund.

“He loves the club, he has great relationship with the fans and the coach Edin Terzic so decided to accept a three year deal.”

Ally McCoist has liked new Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk to former Blues star Eden Hazard.

“He is a flying machine. He was on for two minutes and James Milner was chasing him like me at the six-a-side at this moment in time.

According to The Mail, Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech has attracted considerable interest from teams within the Premier League and across Europe.

Ziyech is unlikely to get much game time in the near future after the Blues added Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke to their attack this month.

According to Chelsea transfer guru Simon Phillips, the Blues are interested in signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya this summer.

Phillips told GiveMeSport: “I did an article probably about two or three weeks ago on goalkeepers because I was told at the time that Chelsea are not talking with (Edouard) Mendy at the moment about a new contract, and it is looking likely that he could be heading out in the summer.

“So, Chelsea had been making plans for goalkeepers for the last two or three months. And Raya was one of the names I was given when I first wrote that article, so I know that there’s interest.”

Arsenal Chelsea are both interested in signing Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli at the end of the current campaign, according to GiveMeSport.

Locatelli joined the Serie A giants back in the summer of 2021, rejecting a move to the Premier League in the process.

However, Juventus currently find themselves in a difficult position financially, which could force them to sell several large assets.

Chelsea have been given the clearest indication yet that a move for Jude Bellingham will be possible over the summer. The 19-year-old is set to be at the centre of one of the biggest transfer battles in recent history with Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid all keen to sign the England international.

According to the Daily Star, Bellingham is set to turn down a contract extension at Borussia Dortmund. He currently sees his deal at the Signal Iduna Park expire in two-and-a-half-years.

The report states that the German outfit are offering the teenage sensation double his current wages in a package worth up to £180,000 per week. Dortmund have accepted it will be tough to keep Bellingham, handing the likes of Chelsea a huge boosts in their missions to sign him.

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal are interested in signing AC Milan star Rafael Leao this summer.

Leao has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in recent times.

Newcastle United have been urged to sign Conor Gallagher this month with the midfielder struggling at Chelsea. The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from west London recently amid a number of unconvincing displays.

And, former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan believes that Eddie Howe’s side should wrap up a deal. Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “Chelsea will have to get rid of players for next to nothing because they seem to be spending and spending at the moment.

“I think Newcastle are the one Premier League team who can be appealing to these players — Gallagher, I can tell you now, is the one, for me. He appeals more than the other two because of his age and what he’s already done at Crystal Palace.”

Another club is said to have joined the race to sign Hakim Ziyech as the Chelsea winger continues to generate interest. The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge for some time now but the arrival Noni Madueke could be the final nail in the coffin.

According to Italian outlet Gianluca di Marzio, AS Roma have been in contact with Ziyech’s entourage over a potential move this month. The report states that Jose Mourinho’s side are preparing for the likely exit of Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo.

However, a move for Ziyech could be difficult to complete, with the Moroccan currently on €6million-a-year (£5.2million) in west London.

Chelsea currently find themselves 10th in the Premier League table, with the prospect of a top-four finish seeming somewhat unlikely unless there is a major upturn in form soon. That could leave Arsenal as the frontrunners in the race to sign Declan Rice.

The Guardian have reported that the tough-tackling midfielder is leaning towards a move to the Emirates Stadium because of the prospect of playing for Gunners boss Mikel Arteta. Arsenal are said to have made Rice their primary summer target, with the West Ham captain seen as the perfect candidate to challenge first-choice holding midfielder Thomas Partey and box-to-box maestro Granit Xhaka.

The idea of working under Arteta appeals to Rice, who is likely to cost upwards of £80 million…
