Some big developments have emerged from Everton this morning, as Sky Sports have released some ‘breaking news’ confirming Sean Dyche will be named the new Toffees boss today.
Not only that, their latest video update from Finch Farm has shown Anthony Gordon arriving at the training ground for the first time in three days after he missed sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Sky’s Keith Downie reports that Everton’s efforts to replace Frank Lampard had ‘held up’ transfer talks with Newcastle, so it’ll be interesting to see what unfolds now Dyche is in and Gordon back at the training ground.
It remains to be seen why he’s returned – he could be emptying his locker, saying his goodbyes or holding talks with Dyche? However, The Mail’s Craig Hope believes Dyche’s imminent arrival is good news for Eddie Howe, as fellow target Marcelo Bielsa was intent on keeping the winger had he accepted the job.
Watch footage below of Gordon arriving at the training ground; a sighting which appeared to take the Sky Sports’ cameras by surprise:
The Telegraph reported last night that Everton were ready to reduce their demands from £60m to £40m (including add-ons), so let’s see what today brings.
I get the feeling we might hear news of an official breakthrough.
